The Crazy Horse Paris Show

Paris, city of love, of Glamour and of… cabarets! As soon as 1881, this entertainment tradition starts in France with the opening of the first cabaret by Rodolphe Salis called the “Cabaret Artistique” soon renamed Le Chat Noir (The Black Cat).

Those cabarets offered all kinds of shows such as acting, dancing and singing to a seated audience drinking and sometimes dining. Later, the nature of the show evolved and turned into a more sensual and erotic proposal. The Moulin Rouge opened in the middle of the Pigalle neighbourhood (where the prostitutes used to be) in 1889, and then the Folies-Bergères where customers were allowed to smoke inside and keep their hats on.

During the mid-forties, the Lido opened on the Champs-Elysées: from 1946 on, it became a recognized scene featuring singers like Edith Piaf, Shirley MacLaine, Elton John, Marlene Dietrich and Maurice Chevalier.

But one of the most famous cabarets is without a doubt the Crazy Horse Paris show. It opened in 1951 on the George V avenue and is known for its nude female dancers chosen to be indistinguishable on stage in height and in breast size and shape. The cabaret came out of the mind of Alain Bernardin who wanted to put magic on stage. He created a wonderful universe of sparkle and glitter and beautiful women. Along with its dancers, the Crazy Horse has also been a popular venue for other artists, including magicians, jugglers and mime artists.

After the creator committed suicide at the beginning of the 90’s, his 3 children took over and the new management of the place attracted personalities like Dita Von Teese, Carmen Electra, and Arielle Dombasle… those women whose sex-appeal is undeniable have been stripping for a limited number of shows under the direction of Philippe Decouflé, choreographer.

Don’t miss out on this opportunity to see one of the most famous Parisian shows and imagine Paris at the beginning of the 20th century with all the glitter and the glamour of Cabaret! Rent the best apartments in Paris and go have a memorable evening at the Crazy Horse Paris show.
