Paris Photo Fair 2010, which will take place from November 18th to the 21st at the Carrousel de Louvre, Paris, is an event dedicated to lovers of contemporary photography, which not only serves as a platform for emerging artists, but also represents a unique opportunity for both gallery owners and collectors interested in the contemporary photo scene to mingle. Organized by photographers for photographers, this unusual exhibition will bring together 103 exhibitors, including 90 galleries and 13 publishers from around the world to exchange ideas and promote the market.

This year marks the fourteenth edition of the fair, and will focus on works from Eastern European countries like Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia and the Czech Republic. These countries fostered a rich culture of avant-garde photography since the avant garde revolution of the early the twentieth century, and gave birth to some of the most important photographers in the history of photography such as Kertéz and the legendary André Mohology-Lazlo Nagy.

Since then, photography has been the language of choice for avant-garde art in these countries. It is an interesting way to express the new social reality which was the result of political processes prompted by the fall of the Berlin Wall. Given the complexity of this cultural moment and the artistic impulses surrounding it, we are pleased to see the work of over 90 emerging photographers from Eastern Europe curated by Natasa Petresin-Bachelez, one of the major critics in the world of contemporary art. If you still doubt this exquisite proposal, the Paris Photo edition coincides with the thirtieth anniversary of the Mois de la Photo, meaning that November will be full of outstanding photography exhibitions. Don’t think twice, rent apartments in Paris and find out the latest trends in art for a break you won’t regret.

Are you already a fan of the French movie “Amelie” and of its delicious Parisian retro style? Do you remember when she meets her soon-to-be fiancé on a spooky ghost train?
Come and discover this romantic and nostalgic atmosphere at the incredible “Foire du Trone” fair in Paris, where the movie was shot!

The famous Parisian fair was created in 957, when King Lothaire created and institutionalized the first fairs in France. This was then more a kind of traditional market where merchants and farmers came together from Paris and the nearby cities to trade their grain, and where Parisian family came to enjoy the attractions of the time.

During its thousand-year history the fair has changed many times its name, function and location, and even survived the French Revolution to become the largest fair of the French calendar and the biggest fun fair in Europe!

Nowadays it opens its doors every year from April to May, this year from April 4th to June 1st, and provides a giant amusement park visited by a million people every year.
Despite its enormous popularity it has retained its ancient French charm and you will see acrobats, fire-eaters and jugglers in the alleys and streets: you will have the feeling of being in the middle of a fantastic retro film!

After having taken place during centuries in the heart of Paris at the Porte Saint-Antoine, the fair is held since 1965 in the Pelouse of Reuilly in the Bois de Vincennes, in the twelfth arrondissement, not far from the centre.

It is served by metro stations Porte Dorée, Porte de Charenton and Liberté.

It opens Monday to Thursday from 14:00 to midnight and weekends from noon to midnight.

On April 3rd, do not miss the opening night from 18:30 to 23:30, all the takings in the attractions will be given to a charity.
Come and enjoy the games of skills and strength, let yourself be tempted by the French “apple of love”, an apple covered in delicious red candy, and other wonderful marshmallows displayed in fantastic machines (another small pleasure of Amelie, remember!)

During those sixty days have fun in the gigantic Ferris wheel, on the many roller coasters and haunted houses and in more than 350 attractions!

Don’t wait any longer and book now your apartments in Paris, go and discover one of the oldest events taking place in the French capital!
