Paris in a day

When traveling in Europe, Paris is one of the first cities in the list of mandatory destinations. Although it may seem impossible, you can organize yourself and be able to visit most of the popular places in the City of Light, and even better, by foot. Start your tour at one of the highest points in the city, the Basilica of Sacre Coeur on top of Montmartre. From there, you’ll be able to walk down to the rest of the city. Here you’ll have the chance to take some panoramic photos of the city, as this is one of the places with the best views of Paris. While in the area you have to visit the Basilica of Sacre Coeur and then scroll down by foot through Montmartre and enjoy the countless cafes and shops on your way.

Paris in a day

If you walk west, on the way down from Montmartre, you´ll get to the famous, Gare du Nord. Once in the area, we recommend you to visit the famous Père Lachaise cemetery, where among many other celebrities you’ll find the tombs of Victor Hugo, Oscar Wilde and of course, the Lizard King -Jim Morrison. A change of course from the cemetery, can get you to the famous Arc de Triomphe. If you are looking for the hotspots of the city, the Arc de Triomphe will give an interesting perspective but not the best possible in Paris.

From the Arc de Triomphe, you can walk across the famous Champs Elysees to the Place de la Concorde. From there, you will see the Seine river and the Eiffel Tower somewhat distant but close, keep walking and soon you’ll wind up at the tower located in the known Champs de Mars. Although it is a long way to climb to the top of the Eiffel Tower, we recommend you to get on top of this beautiful building. From its peak, you’ll have a really impressive view of Paris.

Of course, if you have only one day to visit Paris, you should visit the Louvre Museum. Touring the Louvre itself is like swimming in a sea of collections and relics of all ages.  You may even spend couple of days to visit the entire museum. Choose properly, and find the kind of art you like the most. Another important option, shorter and cheaper, is to visit the famous church of Notre Dame, one of the most important Gothic relics in the city. A boat ride on the Seine can bring you very close to this church. For more information on Paris attractions and entertainment, visit this website: http://www.paris.fr/english
