Katie Melua Concert in Paris

This October, as the French air cools and the crisp orange tones of autumn hit the city streets, Europe’s city of lights will host one of the United Kingdom’s biggest selling musical artists, Katie Melua, in concert at Palais des Congres Paris.

Katie Melua

Performing songs from her fifth and latest studio album, “Secret Symphony”, which was released 5 March 2012, audiences can expect to hear what the artist herself has described as “beautiful songs” in which she can sing her heart out.

Melua’s fifth album is the creative consequence of a continuing partnership between herself and label head and producer, Mike Batt, who has played a major role in Melua’s musical development. The pair united before her debut album in 2002, working on hit songs written by Batt himself, such as “Nine Million Bicycles” and “Call Off The Search”. Batt and Melua are reported to have bonded over their taste in music, which includes talented and world-loved artists such as Eva Cassidy, Bob Dylan, Cat Stevens and Joni Mitchell.

Having now compiled five studio albums and completed multiple world tours in the ten years since her first record deal, Katie has earned the title for biggest-selling UK-based, female artist in the world in the year of her first release and has shared the stage with some big names, including Nelson Mandela and Queen. Melua has also performed for her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the American Ambassador, giving her some serious stage credit.

Her upcoming concert at Palais des Congres Paris (or The Palace of Arts and Congress) is located at 2 place de la Porte Maillot, on the edge of inner Paris. The show will start at 8pm and online tickets can be bought at starting around €60 and scaling to around €80.

You can get to Palais des Congres Paris by taking the yellow Metro line number one to Port Mallio. Metro tickets can be bought at automated machines or ticket windows in stations using coins or card at the cost of €1.70 for a single ticket or less if you buy a return ticket or book of ten tickets.
