Le Centquatre in Paris
Paris has always been a place that offers an unlimited source of artistic inspiration to artists from around the world. No doubt we all are familiar with the idea of walking along the Seine to meet talented artists that create the most beautiful works of art before our eyes.
Le Centquatre was founded in 2008 with the main aim of gathering and accommodating a wide spectrum of artists from different disciplines, who found in this space a place to create their artworks .

It´s funny to think that the space in which Le Centcuatre stands today, was originally a slaughterhouse and also served as the Paris’ morgue. It is located near the St. Martin Canal in the Arrondissement district.
This structure houses workshops in which the restless minds of young artists create their artworks. Being a communal space in which the minds of the world of art coexist, Le Centquatre enriches the work of all its inhabitants. The influence of learning practices is an irrefutable fact among the inhabitants of this magical place.
Moreover, there are spaces dedicated to contemporary art exhibitions. The large central atrium is commonly used to perform group activities. If we sit on one of the couches in the main room, we’ll be able to see Tai-Chi, salsa or body language classes. As part of its program, Le Centquatre also offers live performances, experimental theater and many other shows.
Don’t forget to bring a book to the library of Le Centquatre. Its book exchange system operates as a simple barter. Sit back and enjoy reading in its relaxed and magical atmosphere.
Children are also welcome at Le Centquatre as there is a space dedicated exclusively to them, in which they can play and have a lot of fun. Children always love La Maison des Petits and its very special design.
When you feel you want to eat, le Centquatre has its own restaurant: Le Grand Restaurant 104. Here pizzas are baked in a wood oven and are simply delicious and best of all, at affordable prices.
Le Centquatre attracts young students, lovers, artists, tourists, curious and elders, who find in this space a perfect place to relax and have fun.
Le Centquatre opens from Tuesday to Sunday from 12:00 to 19:00. The entrance is free of charge, but if you can buy a souvenir in the shop inside that would be a great way to colaborate. By the way, the clothes they sale there are made of natural materials.
Le Centcuatre is a place that you have to visit in Paris, a place that does not appear in any travel guide.
