This year marks the fourteenth edition of the fair, and will focus on works from Eastern European countries like Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia and the Czech Republic. These countries fostered a rich culture of avant-garde photography since the avant garde revolution of the early the twentieth century, and gave birth to some of the most important photographers in the history of photography such as Kertéz and the legendary André Mohology-Lazlo Nagy.

Since then, photography has been the language of choice for avant-garde art in these countries. It is an interesting way to express the new social reality which was the result of political processes prompted by the fall of the Berlin Wall. Given the complexity of this cultural moment and the artistic impulses surrounding it, we are pleased to see the work of over 90 emerging photographers from Eastern Europe curated by Natasa Petresin-Bachelez, one of the major critics in the world of contemporary art. If you still doubt this exquisite proposal, the Paris Photo edition coincides with the thirtieth anniversary of the Mois de la Photo, meaning that November will be full of outstanding photography exhibitions. Don’t think twice, rent apartments in Paris and find out the latest trends in art for a break you won’t regret.

The New Face of Beauty

Posted by paris | paris | Thursday 7 October 2010 10:27 am

In recent years the fashion industry has been expanding significantly. Thanks to large textile firms like H & M and Zara and perfect replicas of the latest collections of the prestigious brands on the one hand, and the Internet and its ever-growing number of blogs and websites fashion on the other, style has become accessible to all.  There is no longer such a strong distinction between high and low fashion, and the trends explode globally much more quickly than before.

However, given their social and cultural expansion, fashion reacts with more and more elitist and extremist gestures, to maintain its exclusivity and stay one step ahead of reality. One of these gestures is, for example, the impossible paradigm of beauty set by fashion magazines and designers, who are which are increasingly more absurd and implausible levels. But not only are completely unattainable ideals of extreme thinness promulgated,  so are very exclusive, even racist ideals of beauty which promote the image of a white upper class woman, whether American or European, as the ideal beauty.

Given that the fashion market has become especially strong in Asian countries, which have a perhaps even greater potential purchasing power, these ideals promoted by industry are not without a certain sartorial hypocrisy and condescension towards their faithful and powerful non-western clientele. So we note with some satisfaction that little by little ethnic diversity on the runways is increasing, spreading a more authentic, inclusive and fair ideal of beauty.

The Chinese Model Liu Wen, for example, has become one of the first Asian faces in the advertising campaign for Revlon cosmetics company – a small but important step in the right direction. To enjoy the latest collections in vivo, we advise you to rent apartments in Paris, the undisputed fashion capital of Europe.

Natural Cosmetics to make you look more beautiful than ever, without harming the environment.

Posted by paris | paris | Tuesday 5 October 2010 10:24 am

You only need think about the pollution of our waters, and the constant news that there carcinogens in the products that we like to know that many innovations and changes to our lifestyles have actually made our lifestyles less healthy.

Natural Cosmetics
However, it is time to seek better options for both the planet and for our health and beauty. If you suffer from problems such as dermatitis, acne, eczema, sensitive skin or just want to take care of yourself and the world in a more natural way, there are a variety of options.

First, look for products with few ingredients. Brands like Weleda or Dr. Hauschka are good choices. If you want a cheaper option, look for simple products, often manufactured by small regional companies, and simplify your routine: try using a good natural castile soap which contains no synthetic chemicals, petroleum products, animal fats or harmful Cocamides.  They are generally quite economic, non-irritating, and are one hundred percent biodegradable.

To hydrate the skin, opt for vegetable oils such as jojoba, rosehip, almond, sesame, and argan, among others. You may find that by avoiding common cosmetic detergents like sodium laureth sulfate your skin has less need for hydration.

While many people with sensitive skin are afraid to oils, vegetable oils suitable for skin are generally non-comedogenic, unlike those that are petroleum products (which are those used in the vast majority of chemical cosmetics) Some essential oils (mix a few drops with a neutral oil) such as lavender or tea tree oil are well known for their antibacterial properties and can be very good for spots. Another very good option cheap and ecological way to refresh your skin, fight pimples, or soothe skin after shaving: Aloe Vera, straight from the plant.

Put what you put, it is very important to realize that natural beauty is born and lies within. Sleep well, exercise and eat a balanced diet to look your best. If you rent apartments in Paris in November to attend one of the largest conferences of the natural beauty industry, NATURAL BEAUTY SUMMIT EUROPE 2010, you can rest and relax to look better than ever, while learning about natural cosmetics.
